I purchased my 2005 Murano SL AWD (can be seen here) back in December. I've loved every second of it so far.
MPG wise, on the highway, I was averaging around 24 or so and about 20 in the city.
As I've done with every vehicle I've had, I installed a K&N air filter. I enjoy the convenience of it and usually see a slight increase in MPG or no change at all. Either way, the convenience still gives me incentive.
However with this particular vehicle, I've seen my MPG go down to 22/19 instead of the 24/20 I was previously getting. This has been the case over the past two tanks of gas (premium).
The first tank after the air filter did include a fuel system cleanser so I assumed that decreased the fuel efficiency, but I see that a full tank later, the issue is still prevalent.
Should I wait it out or should I start looking at a more conventional type air filter so that I may gain a bit more MPG?
