Users with the Dasaita unit with the 360 cam may find this useful. There was a previous post with a screenshot of the canbus settings. I only had the option of controlling volume and my camera image wasn't clear. I changed the canbus settings to what's in the screenshot and I have total control on swc and my camera is now clear.

The sound quality is amazing. It took the bose system to another level. I may have to go into settings and adjust the radio sound. Even on level 1, the sound is still loud. I'm loving it though.
Agree the sound is awesome on Bose. Have a little hiss/white noise when using external players like Spotify, not sure why.

I turned both volume settings to -15dB and the scale is much better. Comfortable cruising vol. is around level 10.

Had an issue at first with the GPS, it would see the satellites but would never get a fix. That has cleared up on its own somehow.

Been experimenting with several launchers, Im liking the CarGuru for now.

Can you tell a difference in the unit after upgrading the MCU?

Assad, I changed the launcher to Nova Launcher Prime, installed Torque Pro and some other apps for the road including Sygic, Google Maps and Waze. I adjusted the gain for the audio because at level 10 the radio was almost too loud.

I sent a message to the seller regarding switching the camera view so that I can utilize the front and side cameras. The only views I can see are the birds-eye view and the rear. Hoping they reply back with a possible means of using the other cameras. If not then it's not the end of the world.

Already an active XDA member for all-things Android. Updated my MCU and debating on changing the ROM to the one Malaysk put out. I like the customizations but some of the options I can do without.

Hi maq,

Here is the diagram for the S model,

Please look at pin 33-36 on the 32pin connector M42.

The composite +/- are the backup camera video signal.

The stock head unit, puts out 6.2V (pin 34) when you put your car in reverse, this powers the backup camera. If this pin is not connected/present on your Seicane, then, you will need to find a way to power that backup camera when you put the car in reverse.

----------------------------------
I have installed one of these unit on a S model, and everything worked fine, it wasn't from Seicane though. I would not accept it if the steering wheel control do not work. Did it come with a small electronic box? this will be the steering wheel CANBUS decoder.
Thank assad i really appreciate the help. The power is already connected in the harness when i put the car in reverse its powers the back camera but. There is no video input signal. In the diagram what where do i splice into the yellow video rca that came in the harness?

Hi maq,

You should not have to splice anything. The video signal has 2 connector: 1 is the signal and the other is ground.

As you can on the seicane connector, the video signal is picked up from the 40/32 pin connector and fed into the Video IN going into the head unit.

See the diagram below:
Connector #7 is where the video signal comes in, that connector needs to be connected to #17 , which is the video input for the head unit.

You lost me here...
2 issues I have encountered so far:
1- The steering wheel control do not work, not sure why. I contacted the seller and waiting on a response.
2- My engine light came on after I install the unit, and I do not know how to reset it or turn it off.

I will never trade my steering wheel controls for a better looking radio. I had one in my lexus and was a big mistake to install that. Stay away of those Chinese android radios. Unless are branded Android radios. My two cents
My android radio on my lexus cost $800 was a premium one.

What unit do you have? You should be able to get swc to working through the canbus settings. My check engine light came on after install as well. I took it to autozone and they cleared it.

Yeah, what unit do you have, also what is your Murano model.
If you need help you need to give us more info.
Your SWC uses CANBUS to communicate with the radio, it sends a certain code and the radio decodes it. The radio can also communicate with the computer by sending information to be displayed on your dash such as song playing, and the current time. If the CANBUS is wrong, or sending incorrect information, it can cause your engine light to come on.

I have been using these android head unit for 3 years now, and although not perfect, they are improving.
They can be very buggy, but these are the only units that offer the full android experience in your car, android auto and CarPlay are very limited .
They usually do not fully test it before releasing them.

Calypsodon, I have Nova launcher too so I would like to see your video.

I found a way to utilize the front and side cameras. Change the cambus settings like in the picture. With ignition on ACC or on put the car in reverse. Long press SOURCE on the steering wheel. The bird eye view will change to the side view. Change to any gear, press source and switch to AVIN you will see the front view, bird view or side view. You can use the AVIN app or the F-cam app any time you want.
If you get a warning symbol you need to connect the cam out with a Y splitter to AUX VIDEO IN AND CAMERA IN.
First long press turns the camera on, second changes to side view and third press turns it off.
So guys I bit the bullet and got another radio head unit, this time from AliExpress MTKNAVI Store. I asked some questions and got all the right answers from Krist Lu, like having only 20 and 40 pin connectors and does it support steering wheel(SW) controls. This Dasaita 10.2" was plug and play. Everything works!!! I have total steering wheel button control and my 360 reverse camera is perfect! Using Luinoz's idea of splitting camera output to the camera-in and AVIN and snapshot of his factory settings-CanBus I was able to use my source button as he stated. I can now cycle through my camera views. SW Phone button works too! It isn't flush mounted like the Seicane unit was; it sticks out about 1/4 inch at the bottom and is how they made it but still looks awesome! Thanks so much for all your inputs. I have a great system now! :)

This is the unit I bought for my 2017 Nissan Murano Platinum with Navigation and Bose system with 20 pin and 40 pin connectors:

Hey guys

I'm interested in upgrading from the stock unit to a Dasaita unit (as in picture; can't share ebay links yet)

I have emailed the seller this information about my car:

- 2017 Nissan Murano SV
- No Bose logos (so I assume non bose)
- a picture of the dash
- picture of the 'info' screen
- mentioned that car is made in USA

Do you think I need to take the stock unit off and send a picture of the back? I would really not want to. I am so cautious around these parts for fear of breaking them that it takes me a long time.

Please let me know what other info I should provide seller. Any other tips or recommendations would greatly be appreciated!!!

Thanks!!!

W

You don't have to take out your unit.

Since you have the SV, you have a 20pins and a 40pins connector, that's all you need to let them know.

Your unit will come plug and play.

I've read through the past year of posts on this thread.

What would you say is currently the best unit out there right now?

thanks.
There are so many, but underneath they are all the same.
If you go to aliexpress and do a search on "2015 nissan murano android", you will see them all. They all have UPS and DOWN

1- Dasaita

They have good support, lot of people here have this unit and like it.
Latest android 8, and good sound. They are good at updating their software.
Lots of support on the internet for their unit just in case you want to mod it and customize it further.

I had one, but had to return it.
The brightness was not good, during daytime on a bright sunlight, it is hard to see the screen.
The unit is not flush, the bottom sticks out as Greg pointed out above.

2- OWNICE C500+
This is also a good company with good support.
Some people in this forum also bought their units

The unit is excellent, good quality sound, and good software.
There unit is IPS screen, which means you can see it good even at different angles. Also good brightness during daytime.

But their software is kind of old, they are still running android 6. Have not seen an updated unit with the latest android.

3- Seicane
This company used to be really good, but lately, many forum members have had lots of problem with there unit.

4- Joying.
This is the better IMO, but they don't have one for the murano.
They constantly update there software and they have a big online community.
Great screen brightness during the day.
This is the one I am currently running in my car, but I had to do a lot of mods to make it fit. They have a 10.2 universal unit that I bought.
I am trying to make them build one for the Murano that is plug and play, but still no words.

Assad, I really like the Dasaita. However, like you said the brightness is a bit dim. I wonder if it's just an adjustment to the backlight? To see the Seicane unit I have is bright and this particular Dasaita model dimmed a bit seems unusual. I'll do some checking on this unless you've already looked into circuit board backlight pot adjustments. :)

Hi Greg,

Believe me, I checked everywhere.
If I remember correctly, there is an option to change the " screen luminosity" or something like that, it was under advanced option, but that only reverted the colors.

You can check with Dasaita, and see what they say.

Gregory, but how about radar (sonar) support?

As far as I know none of current alternative headunits have support for extra Murano’ systems like "parking alerts","rear cross traffic alert" etc. Some of them are supposed to make a sound alerts via headunit and force switch it to 360 around view mode. Is Dasaita implemented these functions now?

Just to explain: my Murano (Z52 RUS Top) is equipped similar to your (20pin+40pin / 360around view / Bose / head restrains displays / few additional systems required by local law). If radar system detects possible collision it will (in addition to flashing dashboard icons) alert me thru NissanConnect by making noise and turning on 360 view mode.

And (as I described before) I had to implement additional CAN bus controller to retain this functionality on Ownice C500+...

Do you still have this working or your car just not have all these "noise makers"?

AE_ When parking, traffic alerts, or coming up a bit too fast behind a vehicle I still get the radar alerts.

I have never had the 360 view mode turn on automatically like you're suggesting, even with the factory head unit. I would think that shouldn't happen because the main thing you want to do in that situation would be to have your eyes on the road and surroundings instead of looking over at your display to see what it switched to. I do know there was a couple times when the factory head unit was still installed I had a vehicle stop suddenly in front of me and my system alerted with fast beeps but the display did not switch over to 360 view. Of that I am certain I would have noticed.

I had all the alerts when I had the Seicane unit installed and just connected to the 20 pin connector and no steering wheel interface plugged in.

I will certainly take a look to see if what you are describing is suppose to be happening with my Murano. Thanks

Gregory, looks like US version of NisanConnect behaves slightly different comparing to RUS one :)

The video below is to demonstrate night picture quality but you may see how around view turning on automatically if radar detects obstacles nearby or pedestrian passes by car. All these "beep-beep" are normally generated by original NissanConnect and lost when replacing with android headunit.

You may also note how I turn on / cycle view modes with touch sensor key built in the left-upper corner of C500+ plastic frame :)

All these functions works if speed is below 10kmh only.
