I read about the transfer case, the plugs, etc. still having a bit of problem understanding where the transfer case drain plug and filler plug is.
I looked under the car on driver side, where i expect these to be. if someone can chime in about location (driver or passenger) and approx location of these, it would be great. can i apply gasket maker to each or do i have to have a washer for the drain plug?

any other tips on changing the fluid will be appreciated. i will be changing the passenger side axle tomorrow, and wanted to replace the transfer fluid at same time. i heard you have to drain some cvt fluid not to contaminate the transfer case (when removing pass side axle). is this true? any other info? really appreciate it.

Get a service manual. There are posted diagram of filler and plug location of TC do a search. Its on the right passenger side axle before the cvt. NOT driver side axle. Drain the TC fluid and leave it open, then drain some cvt fluid round 2 quarts and then pull out your right axle. I'd have an axle seal replacement handy.

Have you done your outer tie rod yet?
