Hey guys
I'm in Australia and I have a 2006 Mo TI. I have only recently purchased the vehicle second hand and it came with a fob that wasn't working. Put a new battery in it and it still wouldn't work.
So I bought a brand new one off eBay, not from a random but someone I know who has sold 100's of them that have all worked fine.
I have used the following procedure to try and program my new fob:
1Close all doors and lock all doors
2Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds. The hazard warning lamp will then flash.)
NOTE:Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time.
NOTE
o not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is accurately completed.
3Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.
4Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash)
NOTE
o not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful. The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is accurately completed and programming is successful.
NOTE:If there is only one remote controller skip step 5.
5Additional ID code entry Release the door lock, then lock again with door lock/unlock switch (In power window main switch)
6Remove key from ignition
7Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door. (END)
SO MY PROBLEM IS RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS PROCEDURE! When I jump in the car close all doors and lock them using the drivers side button. Then insert my key on the 6th time instead of the hazard lights flashing the whole car unlocks, effectively resetting the whole procedure.
I have pulled out the batter on the fob, unconnected my main car battery, I have tried doing the procedure with the car starting unlocked, I have tried inserting the key 20 times but no matter what I do I can't get my hazard lights to flash telling me that it is in learning mode.
Any thoughts or help please! This is so frustrating!!!
Thanks
