And it took you only like....a year :D

I thought about it long and hard too, for two years, before I got a sunroof deflector for my 04 but I did not regret it because it cut down on wind noise so much it actually made sunroof usable at high speeds.
I know, i know! I kept waiting for an insert type deflector instead of the stick on kind... :p

Because this mounts mainly on the front glass section, I am thinking this will adhere well and blend into the black real wel....pics soon :29:

Mount on the glass? You mean on the roof in front of the glass?
Yes - The front panel, just ahead of the part that opens, appears to be black glass. The sides along the glass panel that opens are plastic! I remember when the car roof was all metal!? You can see it in my pic posted earlier in this thread...

Auto Ventshade wind deflector installed PICS

Hi All,

Ok, here is the report on the Auto Ventshade wind deflector I installed.

Overall, a very easy mod and very effective at reducing high pitched wind noise noise from factory mesh "deflector" on my 2010.
Virtually silent around town and just normal low pitch buffeting at highway speeds from cross winds.

I would rate it as an A- for overall effectiveness and there is NO additional wind noise when it was closed. I can now use my moonroof at all speeds - YAY!

As for the looks, well I give a C, but the good news I can't see it from the inside, so most of the time I won't care! :D

Full-size pics in my gallery as well.

For $39 I think it is a winner and it can be taken off by a future owner if needed (or if they come out with an in-channel deflector.

Does it work with 2011 Mo which has a dual panel moonroof ?

Matt, your car really looked nice until you put that thing on the roof. I like the shark fin antenna and the body side moldings, and also the lower grill insert. Those are things I would consider purchasing.

Unfortunately that appendage you put on top to deflect air is not one of them.

Thanks for finding a deflector that will actually let us use our sunroofs. One question though. The roof is curved (domed) somewhat and is the deflector you installed curved also? The ones I looked at in the past where straight, or flat, on the bottom. These would require it to be bent somewhat to be installed and I would be concerned with that.

UPDATE - I can NOT recommend the wind deflector!!!

Ok, the deflector is now history. I agree with others (Halwg) that this was not an image enhancing mod, but that is not why I took it off. Long story short, the corners of the deflector were lifting off, several inches on each corner. It was only a matter of time before it went airborne on the highway! I washed twice and wiped down with alcohol 3x, so I don't think it was the surface prep that was the issue. However, there is a seam between the side panel and the front one, and that is where is most likely started to come undone.

Anyway, back to the "pretty" mo :)

The 10 and 11 should be identical. The deflector just mounts ahead of the front panel. :29:
No, 2011 is the same as 2012 and 2009 is the same as 2010.

How are the roofs or moonroofs different between 2010 and 2011? Every picture I have seen shows it to be the same. My pics are posted in this thread - can you post 2011 pics so we can see how they are different?

Thanks :)

They aren't. The 2009 - 2012 are exactly the same. Remember, you are talking to a Canadian! All their stuff is different! :D

I was wrong and Halwg was right.

when I started the similar thread before, I couldn't get any good replies at that time and now, still the same, unfortunately.

Hmmm. Lesson learned, it's not about who was right and who was wrong. It's a lesson of what suits your tastes.
