Thyoughts about a Magnet bra.

I was wondering if anyone has had one. Knew someone that did etc.
I know the Clear 3m tape is best. However its kinda pricey.
Any advice on either would be ooo so great......

I don't understand the need for the rubber strip going along the front edge of the hood when using a Magnet Bra.

I have and use a magbra on my Porsche 911 and the only thing holding it on the car is the magnetic attraction to the car. I've driven well over 100 MPH with my magbra on and it has never moved or come off.

I can remove and install the magbra on my Porsche in less than a minute.

Why the rubber strip on the Murano?

I know this thread is old but I just wanted to say something about a pleasant recent experience I had with the company that makes the magnetbra
I bought my bra about two years ago. Just last week I noticed the top vinyl had a little bit of separation. I did not have any receipts or exact dates of purchase but I e-mailed them anyways.

The response I got back was so quick. Bob, I am assuming the owner, e-mailed me back and told me they indeed had a problem with one batch of raw material they used around that time. Although it was way outside of the normal warranty period, he offered to replace mine free of charge. Today I got the new one in the mail.

I cannot say enough about the way they interacted with me and took care of me. It is hard to find customer service like that these days.

So the bottom line is, not only do I highly recommend the magnetbra, but also highly recommend the company that makes it. They showed me they stand 100% behind their product and will make sure I stay happy.

Its good to find companies out there that don't give you some sort of hassle when you run into some problems with their products..

Buy anyway..I have had my MO since December this year and so far I cannot count the number of stone knicks i have..on my front bumper, my hood, and also my windshield...

I travel up and down I-95 for a good 20 minutes each day, so i can understand where i am getting them from..

I have a bug deflector and i am not that willing to purchase a bra because i believe that it takes away from the good looks of the MO..and the clear bra is sooo much money..is there any solution to this at all??

That is the beauty of the magnet bra. It covers the front of the hood only, where most of the damage occur. On a black MO it blends in very nicely, almost to the point that you can miss it if you don't directly look at it. I usually wax it up a little so it shines almost as much as the rest of the MO and because it is small enough, and thin enough, it blends in quite nicely with the rest of the car. Take a look at a few pictures I have in my gallery.

Good old magnet bras

Wonderfull for trapping dust underneath so the movement sands the paint off.

Here is a picture of my Colgan normal black bra (not carbon fiber).
It looks like it fits very well, and with quality workmanship. As much as a Magnet Bra is slick and clean looking, overall I think the full Colgan bra would suit my needs better, especially in the prairies here...tons of bugs in the summer. :)

It would be nice to see that bra in carbon fiber...anyone have any pics?

I installed a MAG bra on My Pearl White MO a MAG Bra and it looks awesome... maybe i should say.:31: It's almost like it's invisible.. I think this is the best protection you can buy for your MO. The bra contours the hood very nicely and is sure not to move with a stip of rubber that contour the outer perimeter of the front of the Hood. Contrary to the traditional bras such as leather (immitation leather) , they do move and vibrate and eventualy wear the paint. I don't care how tight you put them on. It is a design flaw.. What's the point.. protecting the hood while the edges of your fender is being worn by your straps that holds the bra! The mag bra is simple yet efficient. inexpensive. Easy to install and remove, almost no maintenance. I bought one and i have experienced the clear(3M) tape and the leather ones and by far this is the way to go!
The Tape one is way too expensive and looks like your paint is faded and no shine..may as well sand it yourself.. :werd: I could compare it to people living with plastic covers over their furniture. Give me a break.

My 2 cents...:29:
Nice to see another Reginian jack. If I see your MO, I'll have to take a closer look at the Magnet Bra. ;)

Z,

The magnetic bra looks great, but what advantage does it offer over the bug deflector that i already have?
Well this part is probably a matter of personal preference. They both look nice and serve the same purpose but on a MO, I like to keep the shape of the front intact. So (to me) adding a bug deflector there makes it look different. The bra on the other hand fits and follows the contours of the hood so it is not very visible and does not take away from the original shape.

That is true of any bra Don. But to my experience actulaly less of a problem with magnet bra because it does not move or flap after it has been installed. And if you wax the car real well and apply the bra correctly (and carefully) you will not have any issues. At least I don't!

You are right Mr. Z (as usual)

I should have collected all cloth or other items that dust can collect under, turn to mud with rain or moisture and then get moved next to the surface of the car. This includes car covers.

It just my opinion that good HARD wax or the peel off clear protector are a better way to go.

I don't like bras on cars or women. :D

There are exception to all situations I just have not run into them. :D

Grip-

A proponent of braless?

You'd change your tune if you saw what I saw yesterday on the boardwalk. _:cool:_ There was this lady with an unbelievable "package". _:eek:_ She must have looked great in her 20's. Unfortunately that was probably back in the "roaring 20s". Not a pretty sight. It added new meaning to the term "tube top".:2:

Under no circumstances would I put any kind of fabric bra over the front of a car long-term. Doesn't matter how it's attached. Eventually it will move and rub against the paint long enough to damage it, even if only from wind pressure.

For me it's clear plastic or nothing.
