Here I am @ 67K miles, still under extended warranty.
I addressed my dealer a year ago regarding wet/oily transmission.
"No worries it's just sweating", I was told...Anyway, today I looked underneath of Mo, and here is what I found:

Question is, how do I make my dealer accept that there is a problem
with CVT?!

There is obviously a leak and it is the dealer's responsibility to repair it. Escalate this to the service manager at the dealership and if they are unresponsive, talk to the general manager.
Thanks Eric, I'm bringing car the first thing on Monday morning.
Does this look like a transfer case issue? Or CVT is inolved as well?
Once again, thanks.

Well, my MO is back after 5 hours repair: left axle seal was replaced,
transmission fluid added, all covered under extended warranty.
I looked underneath: looks dry so far , they did good job cleaning that oily mess.
Anyway, forgive me my naive question but... is the left side a driver side? If it is, doesn't left axle come directly from CVT, and the right axle from transfer case? And the oil leak was positively on side of transfer case.
Thanks.

Ha...I remember being screwed with the term "seepage" by Nissan when I owned an Altima!!! The dealer deemed "seepage" as normal wear and tear on a car that had less than 30K!!! But to use the term "sweat"??? That's absolutely crazy...glad the M got fixed "ra3boy" but keep an eye on the seals. I am on a 3rd pair...
Well, I'm back. And I do feel like my dealer "had" me in more than one way:mad:
The oil leak is back.... In the same location as above pictures.
Service report dated 11/10/08, "Replaced left side diferential seal".
The leak was between CVT & transfer case. Is that considered left differential seal???
If it is, the service manual calls fro dropping engine with CVT in order to separate transfer case
(to replace the bad seal). However, all repair took like 4-5 hours?!
Anyway, I'm going back, and I am ready to fight:mad:

An update:
Car is at the dealership since 9:00a.m.
I just received a call, "upper oil pan seal is leaking, gotta drop engine and CVT, seal is coming, will be ready Friday, the latest."
Has anyone ever heard about "upper oil pan seal"?
Or, they simply realized that wiping out transfer case does not solve the problem?!

Final Update:
After a week at the dealer, replaced:
Both(front &rear) upper oil pan gaksets;
Transfer Case seal and right side differential seal
( left diff. seal was replaced two weeks before)
Power steering pressure hose?!

Since MO isn't my primary car, today I took it for a spin:
Steering wheel isn't centered?1 It's 10-15 degrees off
( to drive straight I had to keep it @ 1:00 o'clock) It's not a biggie, but kinda annoying.
And what do you know, notice any fresh oil???

I cleaned that mess and will keep an eye on it.
At this point I would really hate to explain my service adviser what has to be done.
BTW, since my second visit was follow up for a lousy job,
I shouldn't have paid any deductible($50).

Whew..."jacksheadache"...that really sucks. As you stated, I wish I had done my research before I bought our Murano. The vehicle is great but the CVT and tranfercase have me worried that one or the other will go out before the vehicle is even paid off. "ra3boy" I'd take the vehicle back if you are not satisfied with the work they did, make them straighten the steering wheel. It sure looks like a fresh leak in the picture...
This morning, I brought it back. I just want to hear what they come up with this time?! All the seals were replaced, so what's there to replace? a transfer case???
