I saw this on the FA dark side & thought it would be interesting here.....

Mine was just car number 5 in my stable.

I need to free up my Accord for my 16 Year Old.

My Cutlass is off limits! I got too crazy building it up when I was a young pup & I know what I did with a 350/350!:D

And I would never punish my boys by making them drive the Caravan.

I never posted a picture of my old car...as you can see, it will be greatly missed..here's my 2002 WRX
I had one of those until I wrecked on the highway in heavy rain when I hit an oil patch... ugh...

I was actually being responsible and only going 50 mph (just light rain) when the car hit a low point where oil had congregrated and the back end slid out :(.

Anyway, we replaced my wife's 2001 Corolla.

It is replacing a 2002 PT Cruiser DreamCruiser in a round about way.

Hubby is taking over my PT and I am trading his Chrysler Pacifica (lemon) for a new Mo.

Everyone is going to be happy.

Former Toyota Freak

Hi peeps! This is my first post.

My most recent 2 cars prior to my Murano named BRUCE were 1999 (VITA) and 2001 (VITO) Toyota RAV4s.

Rav4s used to be cool designwise but first time seeing the Murano in 2005 at the internet blew me up. It's simply a knockout and I'm glad to be among the first owners here in Riyadh.

Looking at Rav4's recent models, Bruce still looks a lot better comparing to them.

Hello!
Mine replaced a 2002 Firebird. I loved and miss it, but I need something safer and more practical for Winter! Nice that I can haul more stuff/people too.

I had just bought the Pontiac when the Murano first came out. I have lusted after them for 5 years!

I got it 8/16/07! It is terrific!

JJ :)

Welcome and congrats to both you and jjervis on your new ride. I just got mine in July, also.

I have actually only put the reg. gas in it. With the price of "high test", it is not in my budget.

Had my Chardonnay Lady for 2 months now and still only 2200 miles on her despite the several long trips to the "Big City" (Spokane, WA). The next trip in will probably include an oil change. She gets a bath (touchless carwash) every week whether she needs it or not.

Premium is not necessary, just recommended. You get a little more power and fuel economy with premium, but the engine has knock sensors which can adjust for regular.

As for the price of regular vs premium, considering it costs $60 to fill the tank, the cost of premium is just $4 more in most cases (assuming its 20 cents more per gallon) - I don't see how this would destroy a fuel budget. Even if you fill up once a week, that's less than $20 a month, or the cost of a pizza. We can all afford a monthly pizza for the MO right? :D

When gas was $1 a gallon, then ok, premium at 1.20 was 20% more expensive, but as gas prices rise, premium actually becomes marginally less costly! ;)

We got a '07 SL AWD two Saturdays ago and love it. It's for the wife and is replacing a '01 Acura CL Type S which we still like too, but we wanted something with a little more room and decent mpg.

I put the mid-level gasoline in mine. Above the regular and below the premium.

The odd times when there's no mid-level, I put regular full tank today and the next week I fill her up, I put premium. I interchange it every other fill.

I hope that it does not hurt the engine doing that.....!!!!

Just over 3 weeks ago, I replaced my 2001 Honda Accord EX-V6 coupe, which I loved, for a 2007 SL MO in Majestic Blue. I love the Murano for some time now and loved it's lines...and the reviews were so strong! I needed something with more cargo space for all my SCUBA equipment when diving.

I'm putting the premium into my tank so far. Drove it on the freeways on Saturday morning. When I checked the MPG feature after a 70 mile run, it said I was averaging 26.3 mpg....I was impressed!

2001 Honda Accord EXVL 6-cyl.

I had one of the transmissions that went bad at 87,000 mi. (Honda knew there was a problem and extended the warranty on those trannies to 100,000 mi.) Afer the second rebuilt one they put in began to have problems, I said enuf is enuf. Loved my Accord but just couldn't depend on it anymore.

That's too bad...my 2001 never had any tranny problems....however, the brakes needed work after EVERY time I would need to stop short. Rotors warped WAY too easily on the coupe...my personal mechanic told me Honda refused to acknowledge the problem and have had problems with their brake system since the early '80s...got tired off getting my rotors machined/replaced.

Never had brake problems. I remembered getting the notice fro mHonda that they were extending the warranty on the transmissions for the 2001s. Threw it in the glove box with other warranty materials thinking I'd never had to use it. Must've had a lot of them if they sent out the notice. You got lucky.

I got that notice too and kept it "just in case." Luckily, it was never needed as long as I had the car.
