Um.... where exactly on the site? Still seem to be listing the 2007 for me.

This really irritates me. They're bringing a 2009 model out in 2007????? And normally the next year's model of the MO comes out in November of the previous year, so it's not like they're waiting longer and so then jumping an extra year, they're coming out at the SAME TIME but skipping a year.

Why not just call it the 2010 Murano? I think that sounds cooler, and obviously the number doesn't really MEAN anything...

10 years from now they'll be coming out with the 2029 model year in 2019.

Check the lower right-hand side of the homepage. It's at the bottom.

Ah, very cool. Thanks for providing the link as well! :)

Im diggin the touch screen NAV and the optional IPOD control with on screen touch screen countrols. It also has aux in for all those non-ipoders.

Although the grille is kinda funky looking, I think it has a good shape and could have some killer aftermarket options.

Oh ya, optional 20s.

The 2009 Murano will be available in January 2008, so it will be a early released 2009. Manufacturers often release next year models in the Spring so it is only a little early. How can the release date get you so upset ??

The release date doesn't have me upset, the model year number does. It has always bugged me. If you buy the model year that matches the current calendar year, you're actually a year behind. That just doesn't make sense. Why have model years assigned if they have nothing to do with the actual year?

There is much more information available at www.nissannews.com along with a ton of images.

Look at the site about AWD. I think it is major change. 100:0 at normal driving and even 30:70 when cornering and slippage. Super fast response for slippage only one tenth of second. I love this car.

Yeah it uses the same principle as that employed in the Rogue - a yaw-moment sensor is integrated into the wheel speed sensors to more quickly adapt to slippage.

Does that make it (CVT) more robust, or just something else to break?
The CVT is a "generation 2" CVT similar to the one in the Altima with sportier programming. In the pictures, Ds is now a button on the shifter, instead of a detent in the shift gate. Manual mode appears to be gone, and no shift paddles either.

Gotta say I love all the new features like bluetooth phone, built-in hard drive for MP3's, CompactFlash slot, voice/touch screen nav, dual sun/moon roof, etc. But from the outside, they look like they "genericized" the Murano. The grill is more conservative, the tail lights look like they came off the old Lexus RX300 and the overall design just doesn't strike me as nearly as unique as when the Murano first come on the scene. Of course, this could also be my penchant for sticking with what I got - a 2004 Murano!

I am not liking the tail lights, maybe It'll take some time. The automatic lift gate, larger moon-roof, and bluetooth are great features. The CVT is the deal breaker here folks, otherwise I would pick one up.

The interior improvements to the Mo look great... everything I could have asked for and then some... But something tells me that they now put this car out of my price range. I'm afraid Nissan's introduction of the Rogue means they can now push up the price range of the Murano.

Sigh... all this waiting for the next-gen model may now be for naught. I'll probably be driving my 2000 Sentra SE until the wheels fall off! And it's already been in 4 accidents! First I rear-ended a guy (a Ford motor company exec driving a company car, no less!) and then I got hit on the passenger side (damaging everything from the front quarter panel to the back) and then someone pulled out in front of me, causing me to swerve and fishtail the back end into the curb (goodbye rear suspension!) and then last May, my mom backed into it in the driveway! I just keep hoping for one more final blow to just take it out and let me collect the insurance, but I ain't that lucky... Couldn't even get a hurricane to come through this year and blow a tree down on it! Sad thing is, I am still under 60,000 miles... it's been a great little car.

Maybe I can just ask for cash for Christmas... :1zhelp:

Two problems for me - they lost the Murano look and more importantly is does not seem the CVT repair dropped to $3k...

otherwise it seems to be OK...

I agree with Kris. And maybe Bugahoo.

Looks like a real nice CUV.
But get it in Silver.
That way you will never find it in the parking lot......

You can probably still get in one for high 20s, but it will require judicious use of options....... I rather suspect that the $40,000 Murano is here.
Good safe design. They hope to sell half as many as Toyota since it now looks like Toyota....and most everything else.
But it probably is a real. Nice. Crossover.

Reminds me when the Chrysler Minivan had some style.....and so did the Honda Odyssy...........and then all makes gravitated toward each other........Now you can't tell one from the other by looks.....

I remember Officer Tommy O'Brien from my wasted youth. Used to stop at all the accidents in town. Made the rookies do all the hard work. Tommy would always do "crowd control", by walking in front of the onlookers, saying something like......
"Time to move on Folks, there is nothing to see here........."
