My wife's previous vehicle (replaced by the Murano) was a 2014 Dodge Durango and it had chrome a/c vent trim that reflected pretty bad. My dad has complained about the same thing in his Acura TLX. We have never tried anything to remedy it though.

Yeah like I said before, I had it pretty bad in my old Escape too. Thankfully, the base model had plain old flat black trim and it was an easily removable piece so I bought a couple and swapped them out. tbh it looked better anyway. Ford really tries to bling up the new Titanium trims on their vehicles, sometimes to their detriment.

Thanks to Professor Maxxx for this topic, which is similar to what i can directly relate. I am owning a 2015 LE version of Murano and I am having the same problems of strong reflections on either sides of the side mirrors.

As a solution, i have tried blocking the light and currently presume that this can be avoided by tinting the wind shield (but unsure if this is allowed by the authorities, depending on the country)

Has anyone brought it to Nissan's direct attention? if so, what were the comments by Nissan service ? i'd like to know.

Options i see as a solution is to
a) tint the windshield (which i doubt the road authorities will allow)
b) second option is to approach the Nissan directly and ask for solutions as this matter is of Safety concern.

The electrical tape seems to minimize the reflection. I've never worked with plasti-dip but would it be possible to tape off the trim ring and then brush it with plasti-dip?

If there is a way to take it off (which I am sure there is) I would just wrap it in vinyl for a much nicer look. Plastidip will make the interior look cheap.
I was looking into brushed metal vinyl which could be bought for under $20-30. My only problem now is figuring out how to take off the vent trim without damaging it. I tried before with all the special tools but couldn't find the clips that hold it in place. Will attempt it again today.

Finally was able to pop it out. It's actually fairly easy, just requires you to go a little hard on it. After removing the vent unit, there is one screw and 4 clips holding the front trim in place. Be careful with popping up the clips since they seem to bend easily. After that just pull off the front and voila.

Unfortunately the silver trim is one with the black trim of the front so wrapping it may not yield as clean of a look as I desired. But may still entertain the idea of a brushed metal vinyl.

you could use a 3m piece of black carbon fiber and basically wrap the piece and then cut off the excess. That material sells for about $20.00 a linear foot....so 12" x 60". Can wrap a few things with all the left over

Yup already ordered. Brushed black metallic 3M film. Will be taking on the project later this week. Will be posting an update then.

Also got quoted $100 to have the hood dip thats causing glare issues wrapped. So far only experienced it twice in the month of ownership. Guess we will know how bad it really is during summer road trips.
