How to Reset the Service Reminder?

This is the second stupid question from me related to oil change.
I changed oil yesterday at 5009mi, but using the joystick, I can only reset the next oil change up to 7500mi. The Owner's Manual only tells you how to change oil/filter but not how to reset the reminder message. Is this computer supposed to figure out automatically after a while that the oil is now clean and reset to the next interval?

Never mind. I found the answer in another thread -- holding the MAINT buttom.

Reseting service reminders

Holding down the maint button only resets mine for that ride when I turn the car off and back on i get my tire rotation and oil change reminders flashing again. I have browsed through the owner's manual and obviously not looking under the right heading... HELP!

Pressing the maint button twice silences the indictor until the next time the car is restarted. You have to hold down the maint button until the mileage is reset to zero (similar to reset the trip odometer) for both oil and tire rotation.

Does anyone really need to set the reminder? Don't you have a little plastic sticky in the top left of your windshield.

I hate the little plastic stickers! I always remove them. Also, if one does oil change himself there is no b....s.........sticker!

This is a 15-year old thread. You never indicated what year your Murano is and there are differences between generations (now in the 3rd). Your owners manual should have instructions for resetting the service reminder and also for changing the interval when that reminder is displayed (or turning it off completely).

So sorry, I have a 2003 Nissan Murano and I can't find anything in my owners manual. It keeps showing a maintenance button, but I have a mode button.
