Buddy sent me this pix of a new parking garage in Germany........maybe.
In any event, it would be entirely feasible I would think.
We have parked boats this way for years, albeit with a low tech fork lift.

Got dat in Japan for several years now.
Fully automatic, you just pop in few coins and car just vanish into capsule.

But, I still like the old conventional way of parking your own car.
DonWonna park there, especially during black out...you just never know...

Quiting Time

I would hate to see the backup to get your car at quiting time...
"ring...ring.... Sorry Hun, I will be an extra hour getting home, I have to wait for my car to be retreived..."

A case of applying technology where it does not belong....

Its not a public parking garage. Its actually the vehicle storage facility for newly made Volkswagens in their huge complex called the Autostadt. Much trendier than your standard multilevel warehouse.

Garages

Here in Central Florida alot of the dealers have been building multi level parking garages instead of having there inventory spread out over acres of parking lot. I guess property is going at such a premium that it is cheaper for them to build multi level parking garages than to buy property.

Thats interesting and horrifying at the same time. Imagine if just one of those caught on fire or there was an earthquake or....wonder what the insurance rates are. Sir, we have good news and bad news. The good news is the insurance covers the building but not the vehicles that were inside of it...
It is fire proof garage..:D

Oh, and in earthquake free are!;)
