Those were great Cars

Personally I think the styling was so classic they should have not "Up graded it" I guess I am one of those that hate the "Stuck on" trunk lid. I think you call it a "boot" or is the the Hood? I get mixed up, guess it's because we drive on the wrong side of the road. GRIP :D

I actually love the new model, and I know I am in a minority...BMW UK Has got an offer on...A 745i on financial lease for 25k miles per annum including all maintenance for USD700 per month...I am very tempted............But it is not a V12 and I can't afford a 760 yet....

Guys/Girls...Never ever buy drive a V12 it is like a decease you can't shake off...No ordinary engine will be good enough ever again....So just don't do it....

Here's my other rides...an 03 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4.7L V8 slightly warmed over with a 3" lift, 33" BF G MT tires, 17" Enkei rims, Intake/Exhaust, custom grille, cowl hood(not shown in this pic) Superchips tuner, clear corners and some interior mods...

And this is my 04 FLHPI Road King Police. It was purchased new on a Police contract and it is slightly modded with a new Mustang seat, lighting mods, exhaust with a FI re-map and stage 1 coming soon along with some pinstriping....

I own an rx-8...it's not quite your 2 seater coupe, but it makes the twisties boring at anything less than 40.

Ford owns 51% stock. I aint skurred.

I have owned plenty of Fords and I will never ever buy another one, they are complete junk, always have been. If Ford has any input into the production of the Miata I'm surprised cuz its built like a tank, no issues here with 94K miles. They jest take the $$$ Thats why the family car is a Murano and my daily commute is a Maxima.

Billy Bronco..

Don't laugh until you drive one!
I have a miata too, the NB model. Silver color.
I love driving it on twisties as much as driving my murano on highways. It is soooo much fun with the short shifter...
Are you active in miata.net forum too?

I would not worry so much about Mazda being owned by Ford unless you plan on purchasing a Mazda with a Ford powertrain. One example would be the MPV minivan or the Mazda 6, both with Ford derived powertrains. Thankfully neither the RX-8 nor Miata have significant amounts of Ford DNA.

billy,

I have been thinking about adding a Miata to the family. My wife drives a Toyota Sienna, I have the Murano. But I like convertibles, too!

How are the early models? Worth considering?

Thanks.

Mark
I think the NA's are very much worth concidering. Theres still are a lot of low mileage ones out there if you search and it won't break the bank to buy one, lots of fun for sure. I enjoy working on this car a lot.

No Ford parts in the Miata. Not sure about the 3rd generation one that is about to be introduced.

It's a bummer that this awesome chassis has earned a, shall we say, less than flattering reputation. Tell that to the thousands of people who AutoX or track these cars with relatively minimal mods and rule the day! There are tons out there used for great prices. Isn't the Miata saying "if you can't drive with 120hp, how do you expect to do it with 300?" If the S2000 didn't exist, I'm sure I'd have one as a weekend car instead.

If the 1.8L stock engine isn't enough they do have a 302 V8 conversion kit that makes it fit right in there with minor mods. Does a respectfull 1/4 mile in 12.8 sec, 0-60 4.8 sec hang on.
