Hey guys,
I have a quick one for you all. I have a ’04 MO SL; I went to adjust the side mirrors with the mirror adjustment button (just below the radio) and it got depressed into the console! Now it doesn’t work and I tried to pull it back up (but only with my hands as I didn’t want to damage it any farther than it might be). Any thoughts about how I can pop open the console or anything to the like to get it out and back in its correct location?
Thanks for any help you can give.

That happened to me (after some warranty work by the dealer. :3: )

I can't remember exacactly how I did it but I think if you can get something thing, paper clip or small jewlers screw driver you can pull it back up and it will snap into place. Otherwise you will have to remove the consoloe to get it from the underneath.

To access the mirror button area(it's part of the Console's front pocket area-with the black rubber surface)...
1. Pull down knob cover-it's the alum. trim below the knob.
2. Remove lock pin of selector knob.
3. Lift up select lever knob and remove it.
4. Open cup holder lid.
5. Insert a flat-bladed screwdriver wrapped with tape from behind
A/T console finisher and remove by lifting.
6. Disconnect harness connector, and remove A/T console finisher.
7. Console front pocket is handled lifted, and disengage with the
metal clip.
8. Pull up and back to disengage from front pawls.
9. Disconnect harness connector, and remove console front
pocket.
From there; you can plug that mirror control back into it's spot.

I believe this same thing happened to another member here with the AWD LOCK button. The dealer had to open the panel there to reseat the switch.

There is a Service Bulletin that specifically addresses this problem. It is NTB06-020.
