Also the car won’t move. I couldn’t drive it to another shop if I wanted too. It’s giving all the signs of a bad transmission. Once I get the new one installed and drive the car for a couple of weeks I’ll make sure to leave an update on how it’s going.
Yup...both times I had to have my car transported to where I wanted it, because it wouldn't move. But it sounded healthy as could be when placed in P and N. It did not seem like a throttle body problem primarily because it revved so smoothly in P and N. Who knew? :)

Yeah mine won’t rev at all in P or N. Like I said I’m just going to bite the bullet and do the opposite of most and start with the most expensive fix first and work my way backwards. I really do love this car and I’m pretty much willing to throw any amount at it. But trust me I haven’t let any mechanic know that because I know they would jump
With joy having someone with a blank check trying to fix a car 🤣🤣

I purchased my 2014 Murano from a Nissan dealership in September 2023. I took my girlfriend and I on a vacation for Labor Day weekend to HiltonHead, SC which is about 300 miles from me one way so total round trip roughly 600+ miles. When I returned from my vacation I decided to get my oil changed, tires balanced and rotated. I purchased my car cash as is. so I figured it would be smart to get it serviced since I just took a road trip and according to the Nissan records my vehicle was due for an oil change. After I had the service done to my vehicle a few days later my car went crazy my MPH kept bouncing from 0-50 and my RPM’s held at 1000 my ABS light, Brake light, and Traction Control light all came on. My car entered some kind of limp mode I was able to pull over on the shoulder of the road I cut the vehicle off completely and then the car wouldn’t start at all and it made the clicking sound that most cars make when the battery is dead. I was able to get a jump and immediately took my car to the Nissan dealership where I purchased it. on the way there my car once again did what I previously stated but then all of a sudden it just started to operate normally. After explaining my issue and having a service team member test drive the car with me they took it to the back and came back with the worst news possible….. I was told I needed a new transmission. Which I know is common for the CVT’s but there was no slip or shudder when driving and the vehicle drove flawlessly on my vacation trip. I then took my Murano to another shop and they also said it’s the transmission but yet no transmission codes popped up. I have a list of codes and a video of my car acting strange with all the previously stated lights illuminated.

Does anyone have an idea of what it may be? I’ve read so many different things online Ive honestly stumbled down a rabbit hole of possibilities.

I have taken my car to a 3rd shop. this is a transmission specialist shop and I was about to bite the bullet and pay $6000 for a new transmission when the mechanic calls me and says it’s not the transmission.

So now idk what to believe or what to start trying as far as process or elimination.
My 2015 platinum did something like that and all it needed was a new battery ..took care of it all.. not sure if it's the same but sure does sound like it ..
good luck
