Sounds like the old 10 cent resistor gimmick. They put a resistor in series with the air temperature sensor. This "fools" the computer into thinking the engine is cold all the time, so it sends more fuel.
For $79 I would imagine that the resistor is packaged in a nice plastic box.

Worthless.

(If it was me, I would buy two and get 100HP! ;) )
 
You would do better to spend that extra money on fuel and just be a little heavier on the gas pedal if you want more power.
 
I have two F150s chipped; my 'fishing' 1997 XLT with a 4.6l engine and my 2001, supercharged, 5.4l Lightning and they perform better with the chips but I would never claim "50 HP" extra with the just a chip added.

Prime BS IMO!
