Hi Members, Exceptional forum that saves many headaches for us Mo owners.
I have a 2006 fully loaded SL. I currently have 55000 MI on it and siince a couple of months, I started hearing a slight rattle almost like a bizzing sound. It only happens under this condition described as follows;
As I accelerate from a stopped position and the rpm's go up to about 1800 and as it shifts down back to around 1400rpm, at this exact point when the down shift happen, i hear a slight buzzing sound and it only lasts if i maintain that exact point of vibration or speed. It is hard to keep it going since it lasts for about 4 seconds . I can maintain the sound by trying to follow it by slightly accelerating. It is a constant buzz. I want to believe its a rattle from a lose heat exhaust cover but it may be more mechanical.
Also note that i replaced the tranny 6 months ago and that has been working well to my knowledge.
Can this again be a tranny noise or something else? I read some stuff about engine mounts? What is your opinion. Anything else?
