Remote start is installed and working with intelligent key. Not exactly how I want it, but it works. At first when the vehicle was remote started, the lock cylinder could be turned without the intelligent key in the vehicle. I did not want to take that chance, so currently I have to press two buttons to start the vehicle. One puts a timed delay on the bypass key and then I press one to start the vehicle. Once the vehicle is started the bypass key shuts down and the lock cynlinder can't be turned. It is kind of a pain, but they are just waiting to get a relay in next week. Once the relay is in, it will take care of the timed delay, so I can just press the start button and be on my way....

WOW... thanks for that update. So it does work. I'm not understanding what you mean by pressing buttons though... are there buttons in the Murano? Besides from pushing in and turning the ignition keyhole. That is great that it works otherwise though. Can you start the rear defroster from the remote? Anyother great features? I think you mentioned you were able to get all on one remote for an older vehicle ... what about this one?

Please let me know when you get the relay and how that works... if everything goes smooth for you... I'm going to Circuit City.

THANK YOU

I will keep you all updated...The don't have the wiring for the rear defroster at this time. They said they hope to get it soon and will wire it up once they get it.

As far as pressing two buttons, what I mean is the remote for the remote start has 4 total buttons on it. generally you should just be able to press the start button twice and the vehicle will start. That will work on the Murano with the Intelligent key, but then the key lock cylinder is unlocked, so if somebody was able to get into the car they could drive away with it.

How it is hooked up now, until they get the relay, is I press an aux button on the remote start remote and it sends a signal from the bypass module (where the valet key is) to unlock the cylinder. I then press the start button twice and the vehicle starts, once the vehicle is started the bypass module shuts down and locks the key cylinder.

Once they get the delayed relay, I will just be able to press start twice and the system will take care of the rest. So it is not too bad, now, but it will just be easier once the relay is installed.

All other functions of the intelligent key work fine.

Gotcha.... thanks!

I see there is no alarm... it has to be the 1600 model to get the alarm... i wonder if that works the same as the 1400 model you installed. Hummmmmmm

If you get a chance and your interested... you should write a review on the Circuit City site. I like reading reviews on web sites... it's a great help before making a purchase. Just a suggestion. :)

My remote start is complete...Working like a charm now. I took it back today and they finished it for me. I couldn't be happier. After doing some research in infinitifx.org I found out some information on our power windows and how to control them with the remote. I printed out the specs I found and the installer hooked that up for me as well. So I can use the remote start controller and put my front windows both up and down with the remote...it is great....

So to answer everybody's question, yes you can have a remote start with the intelligent key.

Can you post the info regarding how to set the keyfob to roll the windows up?

It is not the factory keyfob that controls the windows, but my remote start fob that does. Real simple...I just hold the unlock for about 5 seconds and it puts them down and hold the lock for about 10 to put them up...works great...It is the same thing as putting the key in the drivers door to put them up and down...

Hi all... I have seen a few remote start threads, but I'm starting a new one because i'm hitting a new issue ( I think ).

Does anyone have 2005 Mo with the Intelligent Key and remote start installed? I Just called a place, (Zippo's in East Brunswich, NJ) and asked if they can install it... and the guy said, "I wont do it for the 2005 Murano's. The code for the intelligent key throws the code for the remote start off. They aren't compatable. " I said my dealer asked if I wanted it, audiovox for $400 when I bought it. His reponse was " I install it for local Nissan dealers and wont do it for that car." INTERESTING !!

So, does anyone have both installed?
Who installed it?
Do you have any problems?
How much (if you don't mind sharing)?

Thanks to anyone who could assist.
Call StreetEffectz in Colonia NJ, ask for CRAIG or RON.

They are doing a butt load of work on my Harley truck, and going to have them install a Compustar in the Murano soon.

My remote start was installed about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Everything is working great with it and the range of the remote is awesome!!

I'm about to get the remote start put in today... they told me they can program the Intelligent key to start the car and i wont need an extra remote. I'm curious to see if this works, as I believe I might be the first one attempting this here.

if this works please do tell. i really don't like the multiple remote thing.

Today I got the Remote Start installed.

I do have the intelligent keys and they were able to program the intelligent keys to start the Murano.

I have to hit the Lock button three times in a row and it starts. I can hit it 3 times in a row again and it shuts the Murano off.

I had to sacrifice the valet key... but in the year I have the Murano I never used it anyhow.

I also had them hook up the rear defroster. The only way they could get that working is to get it to turn on every time the auto start is started. It does have auto shut off after some time though.

So far... everything works great. :2:

that is wicked. did he have to hook it up to the consult II and reprogram the entire thing or did he put some sort of chip into it.??

I didn't stick around to watch them do it... just came back to pick it up. I don't know how they did it, sorry. I does work great though.

My only bad thought I'm thinking is that the distance on on the Intelligent key remote is probably not as strong as remote start key fob. So I bet you I can't start it from a far distance. I'll have to test it out somehow to find out what kind of distance I get on the Nissan remote.

I put mine in my mo 04 a month ago.

the valet key "trick" worked fine ...

if you're trying to get a shop to put it in for you and they do not know about using the valet, or say it can not be done, GO SOME PLACE ELSE! ...and have some fun with them, by asking them "So is this the first one you've ever installed?".

Or call the dealership and ask them where they'd go... if you let the dealership install this for you, all they'll do is take it to the place they like (sub it out) and add 100/200 bucks to the bill for answering your call and driving your car a mile down the road to this other shop.

my nissan fob starts my car by pressing the "lock" three times.

i still can't figure out how they are able to do this with the nissan fob. i'll have to call up the guy that did our install and ask him if he can re-do it this way. another totally off topic question, where do i find the sat receiver in the 05 muranos or the wireing harness in the rear of the mo??
