What do you wish was different on the MO?

I think we all agree that the MO is a great vehicle. However, a vehicle can't be perfect for everyone. I have loved all the vehicles that I have owned, but there is always something with them that I wish was different.

So I post this question to all of you MO fanatics:

What do you wish was different on the MO?

Now, before you answer, I'm meaning things that aren't really fixable, more design issues. For example, do NOT post "it rattles a lot" and stuff like that. I'm looking for comments like this:
I wish the MO could ________.
I wish the MO had a ________.
I wish the MO wouldn't _______.

I'll go first:

I wish the MO had better acceleration off the line. The initial kick (0-25mph) isn't very impressive. Helps when you put in in L, but still seems a little slow.

I forgot two other wishes for the NAV:

The voice volume should ideally attempt to vary the volume based on the non-music (since it mutes) volume in the cabin. At least having a convenient and louder voice level control would be helpful, because a volume set appropriately for driving in the city is not loud enough for cruising the highway with the windows down.

I wish you could disable announcement of "continue going straight" type vocalization. This can get quite annoying when driving on a highway with many other highways as exits. I know to keep driving straight unless told otherwise, I don't need to keep passengers awake with a voice telling me not to exit the highway yet!!

I just like to complain about small things...

I wish Mo has:
1. Power Rear Opening/Closing Hatch (like in the new RX330)
2. Automatic folding side mirrors when you turn off the ignition (should be menu selectable)
3. Build in connection for IPOD
4. Central arm rest should also move up for a couple of inches
5. Better acceleration from 0-60
6. Standard cross bars
7. Turning head lights (like in the new Lexus)
8. Better front sprinkles, especially the driver’s side (I need washing fluid on the windshield not on the wiper itself).
Thats only what I can remember right now.:2:

No need coming up with new ideas since they are in here (With some comment)

" wish Mo has:
1. Power Rear Opening/Closing Hatch (like in the new RX330) And like in a several year old Chrysler mini)

3. Build in connection for IPOD - A current generation CD player that would do MP3 files would be good too.....

4. Central arm rest should also move up for a couple of inches

5. Better acceleration from 0-60

6. Standard cross bars Like very other manufacturer including Hyundai and Kia to name two "premium" brands. :D

7. Turning head lights (like in the new Lexus)
Well.........this seems to be a bit over the top........

8. Better front sprinkles, especially the driver’s side (I need washing fluid on the windshield not on the wiper itself). - The Back one could use a boost too.

I was in the FX35 a few days ago and I noticed that their wash sprayer has 3 nozels located on the arm itself. Each looked like it was aimed just right for the task at hand.

-Better windshield wiper design so you can lift and clean the snow from underneath

-Windshield wiper defrosters

-Better/permanent AWD (like the FX versions)

-Perforated leather seats so they can cool you as well

-larger, panoramic moonroof

-Color LCD for non-NAV MO's

-Autolock for doors as soon as the vehicle shifts into D

I agree with most but I truly hate auto locking doors... no offense. Its an American car thing... I can't recall the I've ever seen a Japanese car do that. Unless you are in a bad part of the neighborhood I never saw any value. "Oppps I acidentally opened the door and I'm about to fall out... help." :D

Well, auto lock not only helps keep you and other occupants inside the car (I better say for most of the accidents before I get flamed) but also helps keep uninvited people from entering your car at an intersection, or another place were you have stopped. I know...I know...we can always manually lock the doors, but then again, we can always manually shift the gears, select radio stations, adjust the seats, turn on the lights, select fan speeds, adjust temprature settings, etc.......:2:

People who never lived in a bad neighborhood take it for granted the usefulness of door locks. Even though I live in a safe neighborhood now, I still lock the doors before I start my car, even in my own garage! Its a good habit I think.

Why wouldn't you lock the doors? For the front doors, you don't even need to open the lock switch to open the doors even when they are locked. I see absolutely no drawback to this.

Its almost like using the parking brake. Yes, 99.9% of the time your car won't roll away, but you never know. Same goes for the locks.

Considering we have a computer interface and the computer determines when to lock the doors, there really isn't much excuse to write a bit of code (that would be used on multiple Nissan/Infiniti products) to allow this to be selectable.

Oh wait, the code's there, as you can use the Consult II to access it. So they just need to add it to the user's options on the display.

Technically, it's trivial. So, what are they waiting for? Lawyer clearance?

It's already been demonstrated that some things are disabled (or enabled in the case of the digital clock) on Nissans that are enabled on the Infinitis. It's not that it cost more, it's about setting vehicle class to make you pay for it.

In Canada, you can not get the Nav option, without paying another 7 grand to buy a loaded SE. The cost of the Nav is 3 grand, so it costs you 10 more grand if you want Nav.

Sometimes Marketing people need to be beaten.:twak:

If I need to get out/pulled out of the car from an accident I sure don't want the door locked.

I've got my seat belt on so really I'm not worried about the door flying open and me getting thrown out of the car... in fact I would prefer if the door flung open. However thinking about it, asside how much would it really keep the door from being opened in accident? Its not like locking the door moves some sort of heavy duty bar across the door, it just disenages the $0.10 piece of plastic that allow the door to be opened with a handle.

Ok I can see your point there. Here's more fuel for the fire. :p

Cartalk addresses the issue.

Reminds me of my brother and I. I always lock the doors, because I don't like the idea of large sheets of metal flying around, if the vehicle is.

My brother always makes sure they're not locked, so he can get out in an accident.

I prefer not to have uninvited visitors hop in, at a stop light. Did see it happen once, but not to me.

What's right? The freedom to choose.

If, after an accident, the door won't open, I really don't have any issues with smashing the glass.

I guess for me the autolocking door is a safety and security issue. When stopped, anyone can open the door and get in..

some ppl say well, if the door is locked you have to unlock to to get out from the inside, but at least the driver side door, you can open the door while it's locked.

All I ask for is the option....:2:

"My doors automatically lock when I put stick on “D” and un-lock when I shut the car down. I personally feel more comfortable driving when I know I am “safe” inside the car."

Really?
I don't think anybody elses Murano does that.

Yeah mine does not, but it maybe a Consult II option? I admit, I'm too lazy to look up the FSM now, but I know one of you will do it anyways.

I guess I have the aftermarket alarm w/ remote start installed, so this thing is locking the doors for me. Also, it will turn on alarm automatically and lock the door if the car is off for 30 sec. I like those options, especially if I can remember if I lock the car before I went home. The downside is; I have to remember not to leave the keys in the car. :D

Want option to have power points always on. Jeez, my old minivan it was just a matter of moving a fuse.

Better gas mileage. Even what was on the window would be nice.

Better cupholders (rears replaced under warranty, but how long will those last?).

Dual memory driver seat (like 300M Chrysler - sets radio buttons too).

Cross bars included!

Sturdier leather, carseat ripped it.

Less ridiculous way of keeping cellphone.

Pedal parking brake is silly.

Wish the dealer was like my old Infiniti dealer (which was sold and is no longer rocks-n-trees, now just another dealer). Shouldn't have been quite the hassle with the Alternator recall.

The recirculate A/C should not blow freezing air out when it is cold and rainy.

A/C controls are insane. Shouldn't have to think "what the hell?" when behind smoking 300TD.

CD cases+cell charger+sunglasses+detritus=need better center console design.

Can't really adjust the seat properly to keep from cramping my legs on long drives (wife's car, so I only drive it on long drives).

You can drive with the emergency brake on.

Just got 30K service, front tires nearly gone (2WD SL).

Wife loves her car!

1. I would like to see a rear back-up camera or lower hatch window bottom. I installed one on my MO and couldn't get by living in a big city without it.

2. A front passanger seat that folds forward all the way so long items can be transported inside. (I have the powered seat option - the manual seats may be able to do this??)

Manual seats do not. They'll fold forward quite a bit, but certainly not flat.

I agree, that would be a great improvement.
