Rouge is way underpowered, Pathfinder is good but for people like me who need second row and trunk space is not a good option.

Mo was the perfect spot in size, i think sales didn’t go well just because of the build quality and CVT.

We have 2015, i was waiting for redesigned MO, looks like for nothing :(

The 3rd row in the Pathfinder folds flat so you would still have your 2nd row of seats and tons of trunk space.

Must agree with you that build quality just isn't there. I've had a few people sit in my car make comments about the rattles and creeks coming from door panels and dash, etc.

It's too bad because it looks premium. But that's it... just looks.

No rattles or creaks on the interior of my 2021 (a refreshing change after so many interior clicks and pops with MO 2003), but every exterior light, when slightly pressured, makes all kinds of plastic-like noises. The only noise from inside is the rusty-sounding spring on the driver-side grab handle. I'm going to remove it at some point to see what it looks like and lube the mechanism.

Looked for an annoying rattle for three days before it was finally located. A pair of sunglasses lying in the bottom of the console moving around when I would hit a bump. I had a sheet of thin rubber so I cut out a piece to fit the bottom of the console just in case something else would get put there. No more plastic against plastic. Other than that I have never has a problem with my 19 Platinum.

Sure they do, but second row space will be smaller and I have to carry third row all the time.
Plus i like to have a cover, and wont be able to have one.
Mo was the sweet spot in size, for us.

IF the Murano is discontinued, what similar vehicle, at a similar price point, would you consider? I found that first blush, there seemed to be several contenders. But when I price them out (equipped similarly to a Platinum trim), most were considerably more expensive. Your thoughts?

I'd probably look at a 2-3 year old Volvo V60 or V90 wagon. I don't buy new cars and one with 30-40K miles is essentially new, but less expensive. I'd want one with a V6 or a turbo. I sold cars for a couple of years and I'm convinced that the best value is a 2-3 year old vehicle with reasonable mileage for the age.

I'm convinced that I don't need a crossover, just a wagon with AWD. My 2008 BMW 328 Sportwagon with AWD, 6-speed manual and sport package is excellent and has lots of room. I'll hate giving it up because I'll never have another with a manual transmission. If I need to go off-road I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee that can climb rocks...but I doubt I'll ever use that capability.

This is a very big problem to find equivalent, especially with V6 engine, which I really like and want in next car.
All what I could find with V6 are three rows which I don’t want
We looked
Atlas Sport - thin can, too much plastics, wind and road noise.
Jeep Grand Cherokee - very liked the car, except no LED headlights and crash tests are not so good. New model coming this year.

This is it, no more on my list.

The uncertainty of the continuation of the Murano is the prime reason I traded my 2015 Murano Platinum for a new 2021 Murano Platinum. Plus because of the increase in used car prices I got what I consider a sweet deal. In my opinion, there is nothing in the market that competes with the Murano for the price. A comparably equipped Lexus RX will put you in the upper $50K. This is my fourth Murano and like others have stated I like a V-6 engine. I have never had a problem with any of the CVTs. My wife has a Lexus NX and I don't like the sound of the 4cylinder turbo and it requires premium gas. Her gas mileage is not that much better than mine. All being said, I think the Murano is the best bang for the buck of all two row SUVs. I hate to see it discontinued.

There is also the Chevrolet Blazer. It is a direct competitor to the Murano.

I guess I'd consider the Blazer as a competitor.

Except that I can't get excited about an underpowered 3-cylinder vehicle.

It is incredible to me that Chevy doesn't offer an engine upgrade in the Blazer.

Would you consider the Durango as a competitor? V6 or V8 engine. Reliable tyranny. It is bigger with 3 rows. Just throwing it out there. Never even been in one. Satisfied with our 16 Mo. No creaks or rattles!

The Bronco is on an Escape chassis. Probably closer to the mechanical setup of a Murano, but less comfy and a bit more AWD capability.

Durango is a competitor to the Grand Cherokee. I like ours a lot with the 5.7 liter V8 but the gas mileage is a bit less than the Murano.

I think the Mazda CX line is probably a pretty good comparison.

The Bronco SPORT is on the Escape platform and is built in Mexico. The new "big" Bronco, which just started shipping but is sold out for a couple years, is based on the Ranger platform and is a real truck. (I'm a long time FTE member.) Same game as the Rogue and Rogue Sport--different vehicles. (Note also Ford Transit, Transit Connect, euro Transit Sport...which are all completely different platforms.)

The Chevy Blazer is a mid-size vehicle and has a V6 available. There is the midsize Blazer and there is a compact "Trailblazer" (Korean POS) that may be the 3 cyl you are thinking of. The midsize Blazer is an Edge/Murano footprint and has a 3.6 V6 as an option. (And GM has at least 2 different 3.6 V6's, like it used to have four 350 V8's :) )

Ford Edge ST has the 2.7 Ecoboost V6 although the 2.0 Ecoboost four is standard and most common. I would frankly prefer a Ford Ecoboost four over a GM "high tech" V6 for longevity. Still, the Blazer is your closest match for a V6 and swoopy non-truckish styling. (I frankly prefer the Blazer's looks over the Mo, but don't trust its long term reliability.) There's also the Cadillac XT5 and Lincoln Nautilus but those are upmarket.

One other issue is direct injection which the Mo does not have but the Pathfinder (and almost every other competitor, both V6 and 4 cyl) does. I prefer no DI myself unless the engine design uses dual injectors (port and direct) which is the case with some of the Ecoboost engines as well as some of Toyota's engines. Otherwise you may have some fun with intake valve deposits as the engine gets older. Chrysler doesn't use DI on the Pentastar in any form yet. (I have a 2016 Grand Caravan with the 3.6 and it's a nice engine but not as silky smooth as the VQ35DE in the Mo.)

Thanks for the correction!

You're right, it's the Trailblazer that has the 3-cylinder. The Blazer does indeed have the 4 or V6. The model names confused me, and I should have checked before posting. Gas mileage on the Blazer is reasonably comparable to the Murano, and the optional towing capacity is considerably higher, rated up to 4500 pounds with the towing package.

I agree, in looks, size and capability the Blazer is a pretty close match.

I do apologize for the error, although I ask for (and will require as mod) civility in responses.

RS version comes with V6, my concern with RS is its a sport version and suspension probably stiff but you never know.
