Maybe it was just particularly cold in the midwest this year.

Maybe it was some sort of change in the road salt?

I would not be all that surprised if we eventually learn that a new environmentally-friendly (albeit chrome-unfriendly) deicer was used in certain regions for the first time this winter. That would certainly explain why we are seeing this problem, in these numbers. How else can we explain the alarming number of bubbling grilles occurring this past winter?

Am I reading this as you're blaming the democrats for our bad grills this winter? :)

Replaced my jacked up grill today with my eBay grill. eBay grill is very nice for $85 shipped.

Instructions told me I had to cut the top bumper lip off where the oem clips went through with a dremel...I did not. I drilled 2 holes in the front lip and that got rid of that requirement. I also screwed my old grill logo in from behind. Check it out:

:29: Very nice!!

That's the grille the factory should have installed back on day one. It is so much more stylish than the OEM "toothy-grin" grille.

Hey, watch it. This is a respectful forum......:D
Alright, that was pretty funny. :p

I washed and waxed my MO today and took the bra off the front of the car for the first time in many months. Yep there is bubbling on the grille, just like the pictures in this thread (mine is not as bad though) - I think it must be related to the cold weather.

Mine is bubbling too but just ever so slightly. The bubbling is located on the top most surface under the hood. So unless the bubbling spreads like a cancer over the top edge and to the front of the grill, I should be good.

The billet grill looks good! I don't like it enough to put one on mine though. :D

The seller is Grille4ever.

You can go to eBay and type in "Murano Grill" and tons of hits will come up. Many different types.

I've been eyeballing this one for a long time: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-N...270370019146QQitemZ270370019146QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories. But I have a liking to the original grill which makes me not get it.
That is right. I didn't want to spend big bucks for something cosmetic. The $85 one works just fine.

The logo is attached my 2 screws. Just poked the screws though from behind the billet and voila.

Like I said before, the instructions called for cutting the top lip off the bumper. I used a drill and put 2 holes in. This way I can always go back to OEM if I chose to...

Not sure about that black one, read the description. It says it is a boltover or layover style, not a grille replacement, as some of their other products state. From the picture, it looks like it sticks out a bit. I'd call them to make sure. Take care!

I have an extra OEM grill that I have in my attic for my 07 MO...bought a new one and had it painted a little over a year ago and the old one has been sitting in the box in perfect condition. I'm selling it for $120 (shipping included, reasonable distance from PA)

PM me to let me know if you are interested before I put it on eBay

I just installed my 3rd OEM grill last weekend. It only takes about 10 minutes if you don't break the nylon screw rivits. Every winter the darn thing bubbles up, which I would say is caused by cold weather and salt, not to mention sand and stones from construction. I bought the last 2 off eBay for $119 w/free shipping. This time I saved the old grill so I can try removing the ‘chrome’ and paint it black with lots of clear coat and buffing.

CHICAGO is killing my MO!

My work commute is 35 miles (one way) down I94/294 from Grayslake to Chicago, which is entirely under construction.

Last fall, a huge backhoe with a jackhammer attachment was blasting through concrete about 40’ from the highway. A piece of concrete came flying out and slammed into my driver side mirror, smashing it all to hell and scared the ba'jesus out of me. Amazingly, it did not hit the window or metal.

About 3 months ago, I was about to go under a bridge on the highway (I94N) and a plow truck was hauling a$$ over the bridge. A title wave of snow and huge ice chunks came slamming down on my hood causing some large dents (not dings, dents!) and a large amount of profanity!!

With all the construction trucks, semi, and salt trucks, my entire front end and hood looks like someone took a sand blaster to it. No, I don’t tailgate! And I have 1 small and one large chip in the windshield.

Some kid leaned against the passenger side rear door on the concaved part and bowed that in. Rrrrrr!!!

Oh, and 1 month ago I was rear ended while at a stop light.

I personally think my MO has the thinnest metal and paint in the industry!

Sorry for venting.. I still love my MO, and at least the inside is mint and it drives perfect! Or,, did I just jinx myself?
I just need to find a good body shop. If such a thing exists.?.

Sounds to me like you need to open a comprehensive claim with your insurance. Stuff like what you describe will be covered.

If your comprehensive coverage is over $250, lower it. Everything from road debris scratches to random stuff is covered by comprehensive.

I'd get that thing fixed back to brand new if it were me. :)

I was planning to call State Farm and see what they can do for me. I would think the windshield and mirror will be covered, but not the paint.

I was actually searching QUALITY S hitches when I came across this thread. I installed the nissan trailer wiring, which went together perfectly. But the QUALITY S hitch receiver box is a little crooked, probaby just defective from their factory. I called BestLessTruck from eBay and they are sending out a new one. All shipping is free, of course.

I love this site. It keeps my hard earned money out of the dealers hands!
